Invited Speaker for New Students of Agronomy and Forestry Sciences - Dr. Luís Prochnow was invited to give a lecture on March 3 to 125 new students of agronomy and forestry sciences at the University of the State of São Paulo (UNESP/Botucatu). This is a once-a-year occasion, when the University welcomes its new students and invites someone well recognized from the scientific community to present a seminar. "It was indeed an enormous pleasure to come back to UNESP/Botucatu, attend this event, and serve as the keynote speaker," said Dr. Prochnow.
Latu Sensus Graduate Student Course -- Specialization in Soil Management - Dr. Prochnow gave a 12-hour class on Soil Fertility Evaluation and Control in Brazil to 29 students attending the Latu Sensus Graduate Course on Soil Management, University of São Paulo. This specialized course is aimed to train agronomists and other agricultural professionals on how to adequately and economically manage soils with minimum harm to the environment. The interaction among professionals with experience in crop field operations is a large part of the strategy of this course.
