Diagnosing Potash Hunger in Fruit Crops

The potassium (K) requirement of fruits is particularly high, but in contrast, the use of potash in Indian agriculture/horticulture is negligible. Appearance of K deficiency symptoms in fruit crops of India is becoming a common field problem. Although symptoms of K deficiency are often seen, unfortunately, they go unattended because of lack of awareness amongst growers and extension workers to identify these symptoms in the field. IPNI-India Programme has constructed a Poster showing the characteristic symptoms of K deficiency in some important fruit crops of India.
