Management Zones for Nutrient Management

Grid sampling has been widely adopted as a way to systematically sample and manage soil nutrients. But it may not always be the best approach. For new fields, or fields being sampled intensively for the first time, grid sampling may be the best method. When more information (such as soil survey maps, topographic maps, and yield maps) is available to guide soil sampling, the Management Zone approach to sampling provides opportunities to apply that knowledge to the decision process.
