Purdue Top Farmer Workshop
Dr. Reetz was an invited speaker for the 2003 Top Farmer Workshop at Purdue University, July 21-23, 2003. The topic, "Building High Yield Corn-Soybean Systems", was an update on similar presentations he has made in previous years at the Workshop. This was Dr. Howard Doster's last workshop in a series that has spanned over 3 decades and influenced thousands of farmers as they made decisions on planning their farming operations, equipment decisions, and options for involvement of family members in the operation. Several of the speakers this year came from the wide variety who have participated in these workshops over the years. Participants included several 3rd generations from families who have attended these workshops. Howard's legacy will continue as the Top Farmer program moves forward under new leadership of Dr. Jess Lowenberg-DeBoer and others. Most important, it continues in the Midwest farming operations that have been improved through their participation in the Top Farmer workshops. A PDF file of Dr. Reetz's presentation is attached. The full PowerPoint presentation is available upon request.
