Building the Productivity of Leased Land

IDLE ACRES are not always in the conservation reserve. Millions of acres of productive cropland are also in the ‘fast-idle’ mode. They are owned by absentee landlords and farmed by tenants with short-term contracts. Too often, these arrangements place limits on the land’s productivity and its potential for generating profit.
